Tribute to Dean English from the Warrior Nun Fandom

On May 25, 2025, the fandom received devastating news that Warrior Nun executive Producer, Dean English, had passed away. Messages began pouring in from around the world on Twitter/X. The OCS Newsletter opened a submission page for anyone wanting to express their thoughts and messages. We hope this tribute brings comfort to others, especially his family, and a reminder that without Dean English, the Warrior Nun we all loved and fought for would not have been possible.

From the internet

Thank you for giving us one of the best stories that changed the lives of so many people around the world. You were a visionary, and you probably never realized the impact your ideas and work had on so many people around the world. Thank you for Warrior Nun, thank you for trying to give us more and supporting this entire movement. There are no words to express the gratitude and sadness your passing leaves behind. I hope you rest in peace and are proud of your work. Because you will always be in our hearts. - @jakqueline1

My deepest condolences to all of you. I hope you can find peace and comfort in your lives because he is undoubtedly in a better place now; he is no longer suffering, and I am sure that wherever he is, he will be watching over you.

I send you a big hug with much love from Mexico. His memory will endure in time, in every song he loved, in every thing he loved to do, in every project he was involved in, as well as in your hearts.

He was my producer and agent for WARRIOR NUN but also a great friend. I wrote a little dedication on my FACEBOOK page: https://www.facebook.com/BenDunn

First of all I would like to offer my condolences and I hope that the love that the Warrior Nun fandom can send you will help you overcome this a little bit more.

I know that without Dean, there probably would never have been Warrior Nun, and I am and always will be enormously grateful!

I'm a movie buff and a bit of a TV series addict (I work in the industry because I'm so passionate about it), and this is the first time a series has touched me so much, or at least made me want to get involved in December 2023 to try to save it!

So many incredible things have come out of it!

All about the support of Dean, some actors and creators in the face of the mobilization of the Halo Bearers! Then meetings / meetups between fans, billboards in several major cities across the globe, tattoos (most retweeted by Dean who seemed very proud of the impact of Warrior Nun), friendships that were created as well as couples, food contests to tweet more and reach 15 million!!!, fanfictions, conventions ... And more!

I'd never been to a convention, but Halo Bearer UK was a wonderful discovery. I was thrilled to meet Dean there! We spent a few hours in a small group having a drink and talking about Warrior Nun, the possibilities, and Dean's desire to reach more people and expand the fandom by making these films they'd been working on for a while. He brought the famous Codex so we could flip through it, discover the beginnings of the universe, and show that there was still material, and that we had to keep fighting for it!

We could feel his passion mingling with ours; it was moving and invigorating!

It saddens me to know that this will be my only meeting with him, but I'll cherish this memory all the more!

For us, Dean will always be Warrior Nun's number one fan!

In the next Dean !

- Kaoru
